Wu Ji Dao Retreat – Odenwald, Germany | May 2027

Wu Ji Quan International proudly presents the first-ever WU JI DAO Retreat under the direction of DR. MED. ORTWIN LÜERS in the beautiful Odenwald region of Germany, May 5–9, 2027!

This Wu Ji Dao Retreat and seminar format embraces an integrative, cross-traditional approach that brings together the exploration and practice of internal martial arts and Qi Gong from different traditions in connection with traditional methods of meditation and healing as well as Western medicine.

We are especially delighted that, alongside the practice of Wu Ji Quan and Qi Gong, we have been able to welcome for this premiere event the experienced teacher of both Qi Gong and Traditional Chinese Medicine, ANTHONY MONTEITH from Ireland.

A central focus of the retreat will be the teachings of the legendary Chinese physician Hua Tuo (ca. 140–208 CE), one of the most influential figures in the history of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Hua Tuo is traditionally credited with pioneering approaches to surgery and anesthesia in ancient China and is especially renowned for developing the therapeutic Five Animal Exercises (Wu Qin Xi), which continue to influence Qi Gong and internal cultivation practices to this day.

For the first time, a synthesis is being created in which two practical healing approaches inspired by this renowned physician can be made understandable and accessible even for non-professionals.

Anthony will provide an introduction to diagnostic principles and to the practical and straightforward application of selected techniques.

Complementing this, Dr. Ortwin Lüers and his assistants via the Wu Ji Dao Training principles for integrative learning will teach the 5-Element Healing Qi Gong, also called Healing Set, whose roots are also connected to the healing tradition associated with Hua Tuo and which was further refined by Grandmaster Chee Kim Thong.

This innovative approach aims to make use of this extraordinary retreat to bring the connections between energetic principles—rooted in the living traditions of Asian and Chinese medicine—not only into theoretical understanding, but into direct, embodied experience through the practical exercises of healing Qi Gong.

At the same time, we are excited to have this unique opportunity to bring together, in such a wonderful and unprecedented way, the wisdom and legacy of Hua Tuo (ca. 140–208 CE) through two experts in their respective fields.
