The Wu Ji Dao Training Process

Developed by Dr. Ortwin Lüers over three decades, the Wu Ji Dao (WJD) process is a modern training system designed to cultivate a strong foundation in coordinating body, mind, and energy. Inspired by traditional moving arts such as Gong Fu and Qi Gong, WJD integrates lively, hands-on guidance from the teacher and assistants, ensuring personalized and immediate feedback throughout the journey.

Core Principles of the WJD Training Process

The WJD process is built on five foundational principles:

1. Harnessing Collective Energy
The training begins by establishing a coherent energy (Qi) field through stances and rooting exercises stimulating the microcosmic and macrocosmic orbits. This collective energy facilitates learning by leveraging both individual and group dynamics.

2. Extracting the Forms
Participants achieve faster understanding and precision in rooting stances and movements by learning smaller segments with full internal power from the outset.

3. Internal Mirror Technique
Extracted movements are practiced in large and small circles, with changing positions. This approach taps into the natural abilities of the central nervous system and mirror neurons, fostering a somatic awareness of fascia conductivity through Wu Ji postures and sequences. The result is deeper, faster, and more integrated learning of the forms.

4. Cultivating Relaxation -SONG-
Intensive partner training—including Wu Ji picking techniques and pushing hands exercises—helps participants move beyond the fight-or-flight response. This training, conducted in both small and large groups, refines the distinction between ordinary muscle power and the application of internal energy.

5. Integrating the Parts
The process unfolds in four steps:

– Step 1: Smaller segments are connected by practicing them in circles.
– Step 2: Larger segments are combined, progressing toward full-form completion in small groups.
– Step 3:The full form is performed in one direction with the entire group.
– Step 4: Partner training includes advanced picking, catching, and grabbing techniques, exploring practical applications.

The Results:

Building Energy,  Intent and Awareness

Through the generation of a powerful energy field—and the wisdom embedded within the Wu Ji system—participants naturally develop capacities of  energetic storage  , -JING- healing skills and heightened awareness. The training process, akin to an electric generator, systematically builds each individual’s Qi or energy field as the group moves together in circles, performing synchronized movements.

The repetitive, circular practice of individual steps accumulates power, echoing the sacred dances of ancient cultures. By embracing the flowing rhythms, turns, and partner work, participants deepen their connection to nature, the earth, and their own heart intent ,-YI- natural awareness and spiritual growth.

Accessible to All
The Wu Ji Dao training is open to individuals of all ages, spiritual paths, and backgrounds. No prior knowledge of martial arts or healing systems is required. It serves as a foundational experience, preparing participants for advanced levels and the deeper dimensions of Wu Ji Quan.
