The foundation of Wu Ji Quan consists of 36 dynamic movement sequences that embody the process of the creation of the universe, in direct relation to the macrocosm and the microcosm of our body.
18 forms are known and can be taught. The second series of 18 forms had been given to our senior teacher Ray Woon as a calligraphy by Grandmaster Chee Kim Thong for further discoveries and exploration .
It’s also possible that these forms will remain not being deciphered but luckily we got the first half and Grandmaster Chee Kim Thong emphasized that every principle will be in from the first move especially featured in the first two forms Yin and Yang!
The First 18 Characters
The 18 characters are: Yin, Yang, Wind, Clouds, Rain, Clearing, Sky, Sun, Moon, Shining, Lake, Reflection, Radiance, Stream, Current, Rapids, River, Ocean
Levels of Cultivation
1. The Level of Form
The body and special character of a form with its meanings as well energetic and martial purpose in the experience of our body and exchange with the environment or others.
2. The Level of Health
Relaxation and self-healing through targeted stimulation (Nei Gong) of the subtle energy system of the body. The potential for strength regeneration , longevity and resilience on a deep cellular level .
3. The Level of Meditation
Deep relaxation in movement and stillness. Direct, simple access to meditation, spiritual development, and the joyful experience of natural awareness and mental clarity.
Martial Arts and Training
The possibility of using the movement forms as martial arts serves primarily in WU CHI DAO training, e.g., in connection with partner exercises, as a tool for refining movements and deepening the principle of loose, flexible basics. The training and individually tailored WU CHI DAO exercise units, based on the abilities of the participants, include a natural, varied alternation between dynamic exercises and calm phases or silent meditation, as well as learning further, deepening, and generally strengthening Qi Gong exercises from Master Chee Kim Thong’s rich knowledge.
Philosophy and Environment
Wu Ji Quan is a tradition based on the life of people in and with their environment, nature, climate, and elements. For this reason, training sessions and workshops also take place indoors but as well if possible in the great outdoors. All paths of practice and progress are ultimately based on the motivation to enjoy independent practice for individual progress but especially Wu Ji Quan offers amazing possibilities and the incredible dimension to feel and tap into the energy dimension by intensive training in groups and playing Wu Ji with partners.
